The Summer Research Program in Plant Genomics (PGSRP) was developed in 2004 in response to an institutional request to provide opportunities for qualified undergraduate students to do research with distinguished UW-Madison faculty in the biological sciences. It is funded primarily through a Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) site grant from the National Science Foundation, with matching support from the UW-Madison Graduate School.
